Cheltenham Sunday is here so we got our racing podcast team to go through the main ITV races (including the Morgiana from Punchestown). Tom Stanley recaps it all…
Well, if Saturday was tough, Sunday doesn’t get much easier as far as the feature betting heat goes. That comes in the form of the Greatwood Hurdle and it’s fiendishly difficult given the unexposed nature of the field. We also have the Grade 1 Morgiana Hurdle from Punchestown with a few potential Champion Hurdlers putting their credentials on the line.
Sunday – Grade 3 Handicap Chase (13:45 Cheltenham)
Not a big field and only two horses going up. Adele and Steve are with likely favourite and last time out winner Empire De Maulde whilst Deasy and I think there’s some value to be had with The Mighty Don (who doesn’t jump well enough according to Steve).
- Tom – The Mighty Don
- Steve – Empire De Maulde
- Adele – Empire De Maulde
- Deasy – The Mighty Don
Sunday – Shloer Chase (14:20 Cheltenham)
Good renewal and the Champion Chase first and second go head to head. Three of us are with the winner that day and the mare who loves this track. Steve is on his own with Nube Negra, believing he’d have likely won with a clear passage in March.
- Tom – Put The Kettle On
- Steve – Nube Negra
- Adele – Put The Kettle On
- Deasy – Put The Kettle On
Sunday – Greatwood Handicap Hurdle (14:55 Cheltenham)
Very difficult and a few shouts for both Jesse Evans (got to have one Irish on-side haven’t you?) and Adagio. Just one for Steve in the form of Bua Boy and he’s the biggest price of the lot.
- Tom – Adagio, Jesse Evans
- Steve – Bua Boy
- Adele – Adagio, Camprond
- Deasy – Cormier, Jesse Evans (both win & place)

Sunday – Supreme Trial (15:30 Cheltenham)
Team steam here in the form of I Like To Move It. To be honest I’m not mad confident but wanted to follow the rest in! He was impressive at the track last time and looks to have the strongest credentials.
- Tom – I Like To Move It
- Steve – I Like To Move It
- Adele – I Like To Move It
- Deasy – I Like To Move It
Sunday – Morgiana Hurdle (14:05 Punchestown)
Nothing from me though I think Echoes In Rain is the best of them. My slight concern is the lack of pace and that she can be free. Adele and Deasy are with her whilst Steve is yet again going solo with Sharjah.
- Tom – No bet
- Steve – Sharjah
- Adele – Echoes In Rain
- Deasy – Echoes In Rain
Other Bets – Punchestown
Deasy – Edison Kent in the Pertemps Qualifier (3.15 Punchestown)
Sunday Best Bets
- Tom – Adagio (14:55)
- Steve – Empire De Maulde (13:45)
- Adele – I Like To Move It (15:30)
- Deasy – I Like To Move It (15:30)
Best of luck!
