York Thursday:
15:35 Darley Yorkshire Oaks
Not the greatest renewal, and both Steve and I want a 3-year-old on side. Magical Lagoon is unbeaten at the trip, and she’ll do for me whilst Steve fancies Tuesday who is worth another go now back against her own sex. Deasy is with Lilac Road, the biggest price of the trio.
- Tom – Magical Lagoon
- Steve – Tuesday
- Deasy – Lilac Road
13:50 Lowther Stakes
Deasy and I can’t see past Dramatised, who was very impressive in the Queen Mary. Steve is questioning the form of that a little, though and would rather play Kinta at the prices.
- Tom – Dramatised
- Steve – Kinta
- Deasy – Dramatised
14:25 Harry Beeby Premier Yearling Stakes
Hannon has a good record in this, and Steve likes the chances of Shouldvebeenaring. Fahey also has a good record in the race, and his Dare To Hope had little chance against a good thing last time.
- Tom – Dare To Hope
- Steve – Shouldvebeenaring
- Deasy – Back the horse that has been smashed up in the betting
15:00 Clipper Logistics Handicap
Both Deasy and I give a solid chance to Northern Express, who looks ready for the step back up to a mile. Steve makes the case for last year’s winner Cruyff Turn off a similar mark.
- Tom – Northern Express
- Steve – Cruyff Turn
- Deasy – Northern Express, Echo Point (Win/Place)
16:10 British EBF & Sir Henry Cecil Galtres Stakes
Too trappy for me. Steve thinks Voodoo Queen is the overpriced one, whilst Deasy can’t see past the likely favourite.
- Tom – No bet
- Steve – Voodoo Queen
- Deasy – Golden Lyra
Best Lays
- Tom – No lay
- Steve – No lay
- Deasy – Alpinista
Best Bets
- Tom – Northern Express (15:00)
- Steve – Shouldvebeenaring (14:25)
- Deasy – Dramatised (13:50)

York Wednesday:
15:35 Juddmonte International Stakes
I’m against Baaeed at the prices and want to back his stable companion without the favourite and win and place. Steve is effectively sitting it out from a betting perspective whilst Deasy is with the Irish Guineas winner without Baaeed.
- Tom – Lay Baaeed / Dubai Honour every way
- Steve – Baaeed (no bet), Native Trail (w/o fav)
- Deasy – Native Trail (w/o fav)
13:50 Symphony Group Handicap
Big field and not easy. Plenty about this should suit Mondammej, argues Steve, and I agree he’s a big price. Three on side for Deasy, including the two outsiders of the field.
- Tom – Mondammej
- Steve – Mondammej
- Deasy – Dusky Lord, Gis A Sub, Project Dante
14:25 Tattersalls Acomb Stakes
Mill Stream was beaten last time, but Steve likes his trainer and the horse’s chance. Deasy and I liked what Chaldean did last time. No strong opinions in truth.
- Tom – Chaldean
- Steve – Mill Stream
- Deasy – Chaldean
Bet Now
15:00 Great Voltigeur Stakes
Hard to oppose the favourite, and that is where Deasy and Steve are looking. For the sake of being different, I felt Deauville Legend was a little overpriced.
- Tom – Deauville Legend
- Steve – Secret State
- Deasy – Secret State
16:10 Stayers Handicap
Zoffee for Steve, who has had a good season for Hugo Palmer. Split stakes Frankenstella for Deasy whilst I’ll chance Priano up in trip.
- Tom – Praiano
- Steve – Zoffee
- Deasy – Frankenstella (0.25 Win/0.75 Place)
Any Other Bets
- Tom – No bet
- Steve – Attagirl (16:45)
- Deasy – No bet
Best Lays
- Tom – Lay Baaeed
- Steve – No lay
- Deasy – No lay
Best Bets
- Tom – Dubai Honour every way (15:35)
- Steve – Zoffee (16:10)
- Deasy – Secret State (15:00)
