Football betting analyst Mark O’Haire returns to share a couple of his favourite fancies across the globe with a focus on Germany this weekend.
EINTRACHT ENCOUNTER TO ENTERTAIN
Eintracht Frankfurt sit third in the Bundesliga standings with a five-point advantage over fifth despite dropping points in a thrilling 2-2 draw with Hoffenheim last weekend. It was the first fixture for SGE since Omar Marmoush’s big-money sale to Man City and Dino Toppmoller’s men coped admirably in his absence, generating 2.24 Expected Goals (xG).
Young French forward Hugo Ekitike impressed in the Frankfurt attack, scoring both Eintracht goals to take his Bundesliga tally to 11 this term. SGE face a tough test away at Roma on Thursday night before returning to their Deutsche Bank Park home on Sunday for what should be a mouthwatering match-up against Wolfsburg, a clash that promises goals.
Only Bayern Munich (58) and Bayer Leverkusen (46) have scored more Bundesliga goals than Frankfurt (44) and Wolfsburg (42) with the hosts striking twice or more in seven of their nine outings in front of their own supporters, whilst plundering nine league goals in their four encounters since the winter break, hitting multiple strikes on three occasions.
Meanwhile, Wolfsburg are looking to get back on track following a disappointing 2-2 draw at home to strugglers Holstein Kiel that followed their brave 3-2 reverse at Bayern a fortnight ago. Ralph Hasenhuttl’s side have scored at least twice in nine of their 10 tussles with top-10 Bundesliga outfits and have repeated that feat in seven of their nine away days thus far.
Die Wolfe have scored 10 goals in four league dates this calendar year, with the visitors also firing a solitary blank across the campaign. However, Wolfsburg have struggled to keep their sheets clean all season, silencing just four top-flight rivals in 19 showdowns this season, leaking multiple goals in nine of 11 meetings with sides sat in 11th or above.
Goals have therefore been a common occurrence for both teams. Six of Eintracht’s nine Deutsche Bank Park games have cleared the Over 3.5 Goals line, with six also banking for Both Teams To Score backers. Wolfsburg have also delivered Over 3.5 Goals profit in six of their nine games as guests with 67% of those away days also providing BTTS pay-outs.
I’m therefore happy to support Over 2.5 Goals and Both Teams To Score on Sunday at 1.83 with the duo each failing to score just once across the Bundesliga season so far, with those contests delivering an enormous 3.68 goals and 4.00 goals per-game average.

GOALS TO FLOW IN GERMAN SECOND-TIER
The 2.Bundesliga promotion race looks as absorbing as ever. Hamburg and Koln lead the league table as we turn for home, although ninth-placed Elversberg are only six points off the summit. On Friday evening, Elversberg entertain eight-placed Karlsruher with the visitors a solitary point better off, and goals should be on the agenda in Saarland.
Elversberg are W5-D1-L4 in front of their own fans, scoring in all 10 tussles and striking twice or more on six occasions. Horst Steffen’s side have only managed two clean sheets in that same sample, with eight of their 10 matches producing Both Teams To Score winners, whilst 9/10 went Over 2.5 Goals and eight of those fixtures featured four goals or more.
Karlsruher have posted W4-D3-L3 on their travels this term, failing to score just once and notching multiple goals in five of those 10 fixtures. KSC have silenced their opposition three times across the whole season and come into this contest having seen BTTS land in 16/19 overall as eight of their 10 away days have banked for Over 2.5 and BTS backers.
Both sides have returned from their winter break with back-to-back defeats and will be eager to return to winning ways and move back up towards the top-three. Goals should be on the menu and I’m happy to support Over 2.5 Goals and Both Teams To Score at 1.80 here considering it’s provided profit in 16 of the duos combined 20 home/away outings thus far.
- Elversberg vs Karlsruher – Over 2.5 Goals & BTTS – 1 unit @ 1.8
