Mark O'Haire - Molineux Overs & Both To Oblige At Balaidos

Football betting analyst Mark O’Haire returns to share a couple of his favourite fancies across the globe with a focus on the Premier League and La Liga on Sunday.

OVERS THE ANGLE AT MOLINEUX

Wolves were denied their first Premier League success of the season at the death against Tottenham last weekend. Vitor Pereira overhauled his team, making nine changes and switching system, and was rewarded with the Old Gold’s best performance of the campaign, only for Spurs to pinch an undeserved stoppage-time equaliser.

Pereira sought to reward the side that claimed a Carabao Cup success over Everton in midweek and the players responded positively. Santiago Bueno impressed at centre-half in the back-four, key midfield pivot Andre stood-out whilst summer signings Ladislav Krejci and Jhon Arias arguably produced their most assured efforts since arriving at Molineux.

Wolves were more organised, spirited and less error-laden than their previous five fixtures and Pereira is hopeful more improvements will come with Jorgen Strand Larsen returning to full fitness. With an air of positivity back amongst the group, the Old Gold will be keen to pick up where they left off as they aim for their maiden league victory of the season.

Brighton earned an eye-catching 3-1 success at Chelsea, aided by a red card to their opposition. Fabian Hurzeler’s outfit have posted W2-D2-L2 this term with the Seagulls still working out the best combination of forwards following the summer sale of Joao Pedro. Meanwhile, the south coast club continue to be untrustworthy from a defensive aspect.

The Seasiders head to Molineux with a solitary shutout across their past 18 top-flight matches and are one of four sides alongside Sunday’s hosts Wolves, Nottingham Forest and Manchester United that are yet to keep a clean sheet in 2025/26. Goals have almost been a guarantee in Brighton games under Hurzeler and a repeat appeals this weekend.

Over 2.5 Goals is trading at 1.91 – that wager has won in 70% of Brighton’s 44 league dates under their young German boss with that figure increasing to 73% across the Seagulls’ 22 road trips in that same sample. Albion have scored in all bar two of those tussles but managed to silence the opposition on only five occasions with 3.55 goals per-game.

BOTH TO OBLIGE AT BALAIDOS

Atletico Madrid have enjoyed a remarkable week. Los Colchoneros have scored five goals in back-to-back games – first putting bitter rivals Real Madrid to the sword last Saturday before annihilating Eintracht Frankfurt in Tuesday night’s Champions League action. Diego Simeone’s men now head to Balaidos, eager to enhance their fine recent form.

Celta Vigo, meanwhile, were involved in European commitments on Thursday – not ideal preparation – though the Galicians will fancy themselves in front of their own supporters. Los Celestes have lost just six of their 23 outings here since the beginning of last term, though more importantly for our preferred play, have scored in 20 of those 23 dates.

Goals have been a common theme in both cams in 2025/26. Each of Celta’s first seven La Liga games have seen Both Teams To Score bank with the hosts both creating and conceding plenty of high-quality opportunities. Indeed, there have been 33 Big Chances during the Vigo-club’s contests, supporting the prospect of an entertaining encounter.

Atletico’s numbers are just as compelling. Over nine matches across all competitions, eight have paid for BTTS backers with the capital club packing real punch in the final-third yet still lacking the same defensive consistency of yesteryear. Simeone’s side have seen a massive 36 Big Chances across their seven league showdowns, another encouraging omen.

Celta did blank when welcoming Atletico here at the start of last term but they’ve since bagged against Barcelona, Real Madrid, Real Sociedad, Real Betis, Villarreal and Athletic here, whilst they’ve already notched against both Villarreal and Getafe at Balaidos this term, suggesting they’re well capable of playing their part in a goal-heavy game on Sunday night.
