Mark O'Haire - Bantams Backed & Genoa Goals Galore

Football betting analyst Mark O’Haire returns to share a couple of his favourite fancies across the globe with a focus on League One and Serie A this weekend.

BANTAMS BACKED

Bradford remain right in the hunt for back-to-back promotions following a third win in four over the festive period. Graham Alexander’s outfit bounced back from their no-show at Mansfield on New Year’s Day to despatch Blackpool last weekend, a result that leaves the Bantams only two points outside of the top-two with a game in-hand.

It’s six League One wins in eight for Bradford now going back to the end of November and Alexander was delighted with his team’s response. He said, “We let ourselves down at Mansfield. The players have done what they’ve done all season and all last year and reacted and responded. Our identity is back – the performance was superb.”

Bradford return to Valley Parade on Saturday as they aim for another three points, whilst also defending one of the division’s most fearsome home records (W9-D2-L1). The Bantams have bagged four wins on the spin in front of their own supporters and hold plenty of appeal against Rotherham when backing Bradford to win and Under 4.5 Goals at 1.92.

The Millers arrive on the back of a six-match losing streak and four points from safety. The Yorkshire neighbours are winless in nine and no third-tier side has picked up fewer points on their travels this term (W2-D2-L8). Rotherham have failed to score in half of those away days and been beaten in six of eight trips to teams in 16th and above.

Meanwhile, just one of their combined 48 League One fixtures this season have featured five goals or more. It means we’ll be paid-out should Bradford win 1-0, 2-0, 3-0, 4-0, 2-1 or 3-1 – 12 of their 13 victories have arrived in this manner, as have all 12 of Rotherham’s defeats in 2025/26.

GOALS GALORE IN GENOA

Genoa’s transformation into one of Serie A’s most entertaining sides to follow continued across the Christmas and New Year period yet the market still appears reluctant to respond. The beleaguered Grifone were rock-bottom and winless when Patrick Viera was sacked at the beginning of November having scored just four goals in their opening nine matches

However, since Viera’s removal, the Rossoblu have since returned W3-D3-L3, scoring 14 goals in nine outings with their only league losses arriving against Inter, Roma and Atalanta. Under the watch of ex-Italy international Daniele De Rossi, Genoa have scored in eight of those nine outings and notched multiple goals in five of six when excluding the defeats.

Seven of De Rossi’s nine matches in-charge have cleared the Over 2.5 Goals marker, whilst eight paid-out for Both Teams To Score backers yet we’re still being offered odds-against quotes on a repeat when Genoa welcome Cagliari to the Marassi on Monday evening.

Cagliari have notched in seven of their past eight and gotten on the scoresheet in all nine meetings with fellow bottom-half teams this term but managed only three clean sheets all season. The Sicilians have delivered profitable BTTS plays in six of nine away days, as well as eight of nine meetings with teams in 10th or below in the Serie A standings.
