The League Two promotion battle couldn’t be tighter at the top with just six points separating second-placed Wycombe from Lincoln in ninth. Two of those teams jostling for position meet at the Crown Ground on Tuesday evening as Accrington welcome Swindon.
The in-form duo have collectively suffered only two defeats in 13 league outings since Boxing Day and an entertaining encounter should be on the cards.
Accrington have suffered play-off heartache in each of the past two campaigns so there’s a real hunger to seal a top-three finish this time around. But John Coleman’s charges certainly aren’t making it easy for themselves.

In their past two home fixtures, Stanley have fallen two goals behind only for Sean McConville to strike twice, either side of Billy Kee, to give the Reds successive come-from-behind victories over Port Vale and Stevenage.
Accrington rode their luck on Saturday with Stevenage twice hitting the woodwork; they’ve also shipped two goals in each of their last three fixtures. However, with Kee – League Two’s top goalscorer – McConville and Kayden Jackson banging in the goals and creating chances, they’re always in with a shout.
Swindon pitch up in deepest Lancashire boasting the division’s best road record (W10-D1-L4). David Flitcroft’s charges could have bolstered that away return on Saturday, only to leak a last-gasp leveller at Lincoln.
The Robins fell behind against the run of play but took a 2-1 lead despite the sending off of centre-half Matt Preston. Timi Elsnik hit the crossbar in the second-half before Lincoln’s late aerial bombardment eventually paid dividends.
Don’t assume such a result will dampen the mood around the Wiltshire outfit. Flitcroft was full of praise for his team’s efforts and having scored three goals in away days at ante-post favourites Mansfield and Luton already this term, Swindon will relish the prospect of a toppling another of League Two’s excellent operators.
Accrington are a resilient bunch, mind. So with two attack-minded teams on show, goals should follow with Over 2.5 Goals a very appealing play at 1.96. It’s proven profitable in 37/59 (63%) of their combined league matches, as well as 20/29 (69%) when viewing their respective home/away records.
