One of the best weeks in flat racing ahead. Below we cover the first two days in the main and take a glance at Thursday.

Adele is just about making the favourite a bet but appreciating 1.18 may not be everyone’s price. I’ll swerve from a betting perspective whilst Charlie thinks Alcohol Free is a solid second best and worth support in the without the favourite market.
Mark and Charlie Johnston have a superb record here, often controlling the race with more than one entry and that’s the angle I’m going with in Approachability. He has a race in him. Adele wants a couple on side including Ascot winner Secret State whilst Charlie is with a horse beaten in said race last time and expecting better today.
Adele loves the consistency of Oscula and makes here a bet off the quick back up from the weekend. I think Primo Bacio is interesting in a big field. There’s an argument she has the best form on her peak efforts from last year too.
Team division here with Charlie and Adele very much in the Rocket Rodney camp. Adele makes the point that he set a fantastic time for his course and distance win and is very much on the up. I think the track will suit Walbank better than Ascot and he’s a fair price against the favourite.
Small stakes all round here. Natasha should come on for her reappearance and looks fairly treated. Value Theory looks the pace and Charlie suggests she shouldn’t be outsider of these. Adele is with Lyrical Lady back in handicap company.

Charlie feels the Ascot Gold Cup winner will confirm the form. He’s the new kid on the block and could improve again. I’m not against him, but I do feel Stradivarius is a fair price at 4.0 to do what he’s done four times before. Adele is swerving the top of the market and would rather play Coltrane in the place market.
Open heat and West End Charmer, dropping in grade, will do for Adele. Charlie is with Bell Rock, another one dropping back into handicap company, whilst I’ll have another go at Etonian, who ran with promise back over this trip last time out.
I find Holloway Boy hard to get a handle on after that Chesham win and would rather play Mysterious Night at the prices up in trip. Charli thinks similarly re the favourite and will stick with Galeron at around 9.0 win and place. Adele was taken with Holloway Boy in the paddock at Ascot and thinks the form can be trusted. He’s her selection around 3.0.
Intriguing renewal, and Adele and I like the filly Sacred at the top of the betting. She looked a little done for pace at Ascot for all it’s a stiff six, and this trip should suit her better, as will the ground. Charlie thinks last year’s winner Kinross is overpriced at around 7.0.
Tough one, and we discuss the draw here, coming to no firm conclusions other than you probably don’t want to be too far from the speed. Adele fancies one drawn high whilst I’ll chance Lord Riddiford from low given his solid course form.
