What a week at Glorious Goodwood and we’re not done yet. Here’s Tom Stanley summarising the thoughts of Donn McClean and Sam Turner ahead of the final two days.
That’s it for the Group action but the final two days are full of competitive racing and enticing betting opportunities.
None more so than Saturday’s Stewards Cup and Friday’s mile handicap.

Sam talks of Mr Wagyu’s phenomenal record at this time of year. He’ll have no trouble switching back to Goodwood and is one of the likelier ones. Donn likes the progressive Inver Park for a team in form. I’ll chance a previous course winner and a horse who should have won more than he has.
Lethal Levi for Donn and Sam. One of the most progressive sprint handicappers around, he’ll be tough to stop. That said, Mokaatil’s form is rock solid and he should like the return to a quick 6 furlongs. I’d rather play him win and place.
The hood needs to work for Trawlerman and if it does he looks fairly treated. Soapy Stevens heads the betting but for good reason and Donn wants him on side. A couple for Sam, notably Valley Forge back on turf.
Sea La Rosa is a small bet for Sam given her consistency but Donn was disappointed with her last time and would rather be with Emily Dickinson up in trip. Another that I’ll happily sit out.
Nothing for Donn, though he studied the opener and fancies Classic! I heard that his trainer fancied Zero Carbon, and I like Koy Koy too. He could do with settling down but has loads of ability. Sam is with Wodeton who could progress having finally found himself in the winners enclosure.

Both Donn and Sam are sweet on Raasel after his last two runs. He has put up some very good speed figures says Sam and this track should play to his strengths. I absolutely don’t disagree but find the price of Acklaam Express too big to ignore. He hasn’t won for a while but has scored here and goes close on his best form.
Donn points out this has been won by older horses and Reshoun comes here in form. Sam likes Zoffee who ran well on quick ground at Newmarket. He just hopes he’s recovered from that effort given a few horses didn’t enjoy the surface. I put up Solent Gateway last time and am happy to stick.
Checkandchallenge for Donn and Sam. He shaped very well at Sandown against a pace bias and you can put a line through his Guineas run. I like the German raider. He shaped for the return to a mile last time and escapes the penalty he had for that effort.
Lawful Command gets in the race now, likes the track and is a strong shout for Sam. I’m following him in. Donn thinks Blue For You is a fair price to reverse form with my selection Eilean Dubh who had a smoother run-through last time, is extremely progressive, well in, and loves a strongly run mile.
Every chance Regal Reality improves for the step up in trip according to Sam and Donn, for all it’s an unknown. The race could set up nicely for him. Consensus is the favourite is probably worth taking on but it’s too trappy for me.
