Saturday Racing Cheat Sheet From Ascot, Lingfield & Haydock

3 min

Matchbook Betting Podcast host Tom Stanley gives a quick overview of what he and our team are backing for Saturday’s ITV races.

Shame the ante post Derby favourite is out of the Lingfield trial, but it does open the heat up a little. Two cracking handicaps between Haydock and Ascot the feature betting heats…you might want to be on weather watch given the forecast.

Oaks Trial (14:15 Lingfield)

Gosden’s filly all the rage here though Adele and I think Aidan O’Brien’s charge is overpriced.

  • Sam – Loving Dream
  • Steve – Loving Dream
  • Adele – Loving Dream / Divinely
  • Tom – Divinely

Buckhounds Stakes (14:30 Ascot)

Tough heat and not much agreement between the panel, but it’s 5.0 the field at the time of recording, so some fair prices getting the nod win and place.

  • Sam – Albaflora
  • Steve – Deja
  • Adele – Outbox / Without A Fight
  • Tom – Laafy

Derby Trial (14:50 Lingfield)

I’m swerving, but Adele and Sam like Kyprios while Steve fancies an outsider.

  • Sam – Kyprios
  • Steve – Third Realm
  • Adele – Kyprios
  • Tom – No Bet

Swinton Hurdle (15:10 Haydock)

The price about Ballinsker long gone, but I’ll stick to my guns. Sam saves a mention for him and a couple of others, and he and Adele agree with Camprond.

  • Sam – Nordic Combined / Camprond
  • Steve – Rowland Ward
  • Adele – Camprond / Shanroe
  • Tom – Ballinsker

Victoria Cup (15:40 Ascot)

The consensus is a high draw will be an advantage as that’s where most of the pace is. Six different runners getting the vote.

Sam – Motakhayyel / Chiefofchiefs
Steve – River Nymph
Adele – Symbolize
Tom – Raising Sand / Sunset Breeze
