Friday and Saturday’s best bets for Royal Ascot from our Racing podcast team!
We’ve coupled the last two days of the Royal meeting into one. Worth noting we didn’t have declarations for the Saturday at the time of recording, but we still had a fair idea of likely runners.
It just means the Wokingham was not at the forefront of our minds!
Deasy and I agree that Gear Up is the value bet here for all he has to give weight away. Steve is sticking to small stakes at the top of the market, and Sam is chancing the outsider of the field.
Great race and a fair few at prices going up here. Sam has a few on-side, including Wesley Ward’s filly. Deasy, and I can’t believe Miss Amulet is the price she is on her two-year-old form.
Sam and I are hoping for rain for the German raider. Steve is most confident of us all and makes Pretty Gorgeous his best bet.

Again rain the key as all the selections are best with cut underfoot. Deasy and I fancy Wonderful Tonight will go off a good bit shorter than her early price.
As things stand, no bet for me but the rest of the guys have a selection each. Steve thinks Art Power is the value whilst Deasy is siding with the Irish raider who won well at the Curragh last time. Sam is siding with a horse that loves it at Ascot.
