Bryony Frost: "A Huge Day Ahead For Frodon"

Matchbook Ambassador Bryony Frost shares her thoughts on Frodon and her other rides for Day 3 of the Festival.

Big day today. Big day for Frodon and me.

He’s happy, and that’s the main thing. I spoke to Holly, and she couldn’t be happier with him.

There’s nothing more that can be done now. All the preparations are complete. He had an early night last night. He wasn’t out on the razz with his mate San Ben. They’re right at the top of the yard, next door to each other, they look out on everyone, make sure that they know what’s going on. They’re good mates, and San Ben will be cheering for Frodon today.

It’s the Ryanair Chase and not the Gold Cup, and that’s good now that the rain has come. He can always come back for the Gold Cup in the future if that’s the thing for him. He’s a young horse. He’s only seven.

I know that he’s going to give me 110 per cent, because he always does, and I’ll give him 110 per cent. He’s going to be brave for me, and I’m going to be brave for him. We’re there for each other. I know that he’s going to give his all.

I’ll just kick him out of the gate and see how we go. The most important thing is to get him settled into his rhythm and get him jumping. He knows Cheltenham, he loves the place, and the bit of rain that we had will be no harm for him.

It’s a strong race. The Irish horses are strong and the race is full of dangers. But I wouldn’t change my horse for anything. He’s my partner. We’ll give our all.

I ride Oh Land Abloom for Neil earlier in the Petemps Final, and he is not without a chance. It’s a really competitive race. It always is.

Oh Land Abloom is a tough horse, so the rough and tumble of a Pertemps Final should suit him. He loves getting stuck in. I think he’ll enjoy it. He probably wouldn’t want the ground to get too soft, so if he’s not enjoying it I’ll look after him, but I’m looking forward to seeing how he’ll handle it.
