Hugo Palmer's Thoughts On Collide Today At Royal Ascot

I am really looking forward to running Collide in the Duke of Edinburgh Stakes at Royal Ascot today.

It is so hard to win at Royal Ascot, you have to be 110%, but I think that he is 110%. He has never looked as well as he looks now, he is on amazing terms with himself. And the ground has come in his favour. One of the upsides of all those ruined picnics this week is that Collide will have his ground!

He is drawn in stall two, which technically should be a positive, but the stats say that it can be difficult from there. I hope that he can get a nice position, fourth or fifth or sixth along the rail, let somebody else do the donkey work, and I hope that he can get some luck in-running.

It’s not going to be easy, it’s never easy at Royal Ascot, but he is in great form, he will love the ground, and he stays a mile and a half well. I am hopeful of a big run.
