Matchbook's NFL Week 15 Colossus Syndicate

With just three weeks of the regular season left don’t wait to get involved in Matchbook’s Colossus NFL syndicate and give yourself the chance of the ultimate sweat by Monday night. This week has some huge games with big playoff implications and so we’re taking advantage and taking aim at the huge Pick 7 jackpot once again.

Colossus syndicates are simple. They are crowdfunded bets where a syndicate leader, in this case, Team Matchbook, picks out a slate of bets on the NFL point spread jackpot pool and you can buy a percentage of the total bet amount. If we win you win the same percentage of the jackpot or whatever the bet is cashed out for.

Each week we’ll explain the bets and why we choose them and if you like our thinking then simply buy in and come along for the ride. Redzone will never be the same again.

This week’s picks with Aidan “Sully” O’Sullivan:

Pick 7
Cost: £10 for 5%
Jackpot: £123k +

Packers @ Bears – Packers by 1-12

Packers are still, just, in the hunt for a wildcard spot and will be throwing everything at this encounter with one of the toughest looking defences in the NFL, which kept the Rams to just 6 points last weekend. But while he Bears defence remains strong the offense continues to struggle and I can see a shock here and am backing the Packers by 1-12 here.

Cowboys @ Colts – Cowboys by 1-6 or Colts by 1-12

This looks a tough game to call so the safe bet is to keep a foot in each camp with a marginal lean towards the home side the Colts. The handicap indicates this one will be close with the Colts just edging out a tight encounter, but it would be no surprise to see the Cowboys win this one by a few points either. Play it safe here.

Dolphins @ Vikings – Vikings by 7-18

I think the Vikings can cover here, and a change in offensive coordinator with De Filipo sacked this week could spark the offense into life. The defence of the Vikings is still one of the best in the NFL and if they can get the offense firing then they are more than capable of winning by a couple of touchdowns against a Dolphins side that snatched an unlikely win against the Patriots last weekend.

Titans @ Giants – Giants by 1-12

The Giants may have started the season as poorly as anyone, but have been one of the better teams in the league in the last few weeks and this is a good game for them against a struggling Titans side. This doesn’t look like a blowout and I don’t see the Giants winning by a huge score at home, but they should just do enough to get past this Titans side and a margin of 1-12 looks about right.

Eli Manning and the Giants have been one of the better teams in the league in recent weeks.

Patriots @ Steelers – Patriots by 1-12

This is more a bet to fade the Steelers than to back the Patriots. I’m not a huge fan of the Patriots right now, although it’s worth noting they have a great record against the Steelers, but as much as I’m not a fan of Bill Belichick’s side I’m even less of a fan of the Steelers right now. They look poorly coached and weak in defence and I’d happily take them on every week so I’m with the Patriots here, although I don’t expect a blowout.

Eagles @ Rams – Rams by 13-24

With the Rams back to home comforts and a warm climate after their bruising trip to a wintry Chicago, they will be looking to put things right this weekend at the expense of the Eagles who themselves are looking for an unlikely playoff spot. But even though the Eagles look to be improving and took the Cowboys to overtime last week I don’t expect this to be close and the Rams should run away with this one here.

Saints @ Panthers – Saints by 13-18

This is a simple enough one to hopefully take down the jackpot on Monday night. The Saints are simply a much better team than the Panthers, who have been trending downwards for a few weeks. And with Cam Newton definitely out it’s hard to see this one as ending up as anything other than the Saints by two touchdowns.
