Our podcast team make their selections for Saturday at York kicking off with the big one – The Ebor Handicap
Ebor Handicap (15:35 York)
Very much looking to ‘Team Ireland’ here…it’s a British handicap, after all. Deasy and I agree on two, and Steve makes a strong case for Willie Mullins’s charge; he’s his best bet of the day.
- Tom – Mirann / Shanroe
- Steve – Mt Leinster
- Deasy – Mirann / Shanroe / Humanitarian (all Win/Place)
Strensall Stakes (13:50 York)
Real World is the team steam of the day and Deasy’s best bet. It’s difficult to look past him as long as the forecast rain doesn’t materialise too early. He should be too good for these.
- Tom – Real World
- Steve – Real World
- Deasy – Real World / Brunch to place

Melrose Handicap (14:25 York)
This is tough, and Deasy and I would be small stakes about our three selections. Steve is more confident and makes a strong case for Surrey Gold, who should enjoy a stronger run race than last time.
- Tom – Dhushan / Surrey Gold
- Steve – Surrey Gold
- Deasy – Marshall Plan (Win/Place)
City Of York Stakes (15:00 York)
Space Blues is best bet material for me. He’s had genuine excuses on his last two starts and is far and away the best of these. Deasy opts for Sir Busker at a double-figure price and nearly talks Steve into it!
- Tom – Space Blues
- Steve – Space Blues
- Deasy – Sir Busker (Win/Place)
Saturday Best Bets
- Tom – Space Blues
- Steve – Mt Leinster
- Deasy – Real World
